What made it worst was that I knew the solution to this was simple…EXERCISE.
But I couldn’t bring myself to start exercising no matter how much I tried to motivate myself.
And the people around me didn’t make it any easier as well…
“Aiyo Veejay, I think you should keep fit a bit la” says that one colleague who also should keep fit
“Wahhh Veejay, looking prosperous now ah” says that friend who keeps reminding you how ‘prosperous’ you are
“Dei Veejay, you should join the workout program I go to la” says that long lost family member who is super into fitness and does nothing else
The more people tried to help me the more I felt embarrassed, lonely and vulnerable.
No matter how hard I tried…there just seems to be no way out of this situation.
Looking back now, I know why nothing worked.
It was because I was trying to do it all ALONE.
I tried to workout alone in the gym, I started all sorts of diet alone, and I tried to change my lifestyle alone
This was MY biggest mistake!
When I was feeling vulnerable and powerless, the last thing I should have done was to try and do everything ALONE!
Lucky for me, I came across a great program AND an even greater community!
With the help of a great program and an awesome community I started exercising regularly.
I was able to get back in shape, to sleep better at night, to have more energy during the day…and yes I could walk up and down 3 floors without panting!
From this personal experience, I’ve made it my mission to create an exercise program and community for people who are struggling like I did.
People who are struggling to get back in shape, people who feel stuck doing things alone, people who feel like they can’t do this alone!
